PGTFC athletes earn provincial awards – The Prince George Citizen

The Prince George Citizen – December 10, 2013

Keiran Leboe and Ryan Gaiesky, two of the top young track and field athletes in Canada, were recognized for their accomplishments at a B.C. Athletics awards banquet in Richmond on the weekend.

Leboe and Gaiesky were part of a group that received athlete-of-the-year awards in the midget (15-year-old) category. Both represented the Prince George Track and Field Club at the 2013 Canadian Legion youth championships, held in Langley in August.

As members of Team B.C. at nationals, Leboe placed fifth in hammer throw and Gaiesky was sixth in the 100-metre hurdles.

At the provincial level, Leboe was the hammer throw champion and finished third in discus, javelin and shot put. Gaiesky, meanwhile, took third place in the 100m hurdles and triple jump.

The PGTFC will begin its indoor season in early January with training sessions at the Northern Sport Centre.
