Matt Lincoln to Run 1500m
Matt Lincoln, one of Canada’s finest 1500-meter competitors, has filed his entry for the Lafarge High Performance meet that takes place next Wednesday at Abbotsford’s Swan track at Rotary Stadium.
Lincoln has a best time for 1500 meters of 3:38.44, which is equivalent to running a mile in 3-minutes 56 seconds. Lincoln, who lives in Scarborough, ON, is a graduate of Penn State University and in 2009 he was the bronze medalist at the Francophone Games.
Although injured throughout most of last year, Lincoln is once again healthy and already this season has turned in a time of 3:47.42 for the 1500-meter distance. Lincoln hopes to be in top form by the end of this month when the Canadian Championships take place in Calgary. At the Championships Lincoln aspires to do well enough to gain selection to the Canadian team that will take part in this summer’s World Track and Field Championships.
The Lafarge meet is organized by the Valley Royals Track Club and sponsored by Lafarge Canada with support from British Columbia Athletics.
